Intro
Numerous signs indicate the arrival of season on Marco Island: car carriers, cooler weather, and packed restaurants, to name a few. However, one other milestone presents a clear benchmark that season is upon us: the start of the legendary Marco Island Farmer’s Market. An Island fixture for well over a decade, the farmer’s market runs from mid-November to mid-April at Veterans Community Park. Characterized by live music, arts and crafts, and countless food options, the farmer’s market represents a must-visit attraction.
What to expect there
The first (and probably most important) point to make here is that the farmer’s market is likely going to be busy; as previously stated, the farmer’s market is legendary and that commands mighty attendance. Ergo, we recommend getting there as early as possible to beat the rush.
With that out of the way, the next thing you should expect is the atmosphere. Veteran's Community Park represents an absolutely gorgeous backdrop for the event, with vibrant green grass, outstanding facilities, and scintillating live music. There's no doubt: simply being at the market is a spectacle to behold.
Of course, being a farmer’s market, your expectations should also include a bountiful selection of crafts, food, souvenirs, and much, much more! In our first visit to the market this year, we observed the following:
-Jewelry
-Produce stands
-Multiple bakeries
-Hot food stands
-Cold food stands
-Specialty food stands dedicated to specific items like pickles, nuts, or granola
-Florida oranges galore
And that's just scratching the surface. There's so much to see!
How to Get there
Like most guides, we’ll start navigation from the Jolley Bridge. Head down Collier Boulevard until you get to Bald Eagle Drive and turn left. Keep going until you get to Elkcam Circle, and turn right. The entrance to the parking lot will be on the right. It should also be noted that there will likely be signs guiding you to the farmer’s market, so look out for those as well!
More Importantly, How To Park...
At the risk of sounding repetitive, the first step you must take here is to follow signs and officers directing traffic. The market is going to be dense and concentrated, and following these signals is key to success. The complexity of parking may depend on the day; on a typical gorgeous seasonal day on the Island, expect parking to be competitive, while a rainy or chilly day may result in an easier parking experience. One piece of good news this year: in addition to the main lot in the park, the New Life Community Church also provides parking for the market, so finding a spot should be achievable. One last note: do not be surprised if it takes a little while to get in and out; like a major festival or event, the flow of traffic naturally takes a bit of time, but it shouldn't be a tremendous struggle either.

There's probably more we can cover, but we do not want to ruin the surprise too much! Come take a look when you can; there's something for everyone at Marco Island's renowned farmer's market!
